Hi everyone! My name is Skye and I'm a full-time artist from Gold Coast, Australia. Today I want to share the techniques and processes I use to create a “body of work” by working on 3 paintings at once!

I love keeping my work fresh and spontaneous by painting multiple fun, expressive abstract pieces simultaneously.

I paint intuitively, with big gestural marks and quite abstract. When I create a painting I want to capture feeling, space, and emotion in my work. I love that experience of being so immersed in the process I lose track of all time and space.

You’ll start with three canvases, a few acrylic colors and a handful of large assorted brushes. 

Learn how Skye begins with canvas 1, when (and why) she moves on to the next and how you can keep the marks coordinating but not repeating on each unique piece. 

In this stage, just have FUN.. 🙌 don’t worry about the final outcome. While this layer is a building block, any of these early marks you don’t like can be covered up with new ones as you go!
You’ll start with three canvases, a few acrylic colors and a handful of large assorted brushes. 

Learn how Skye begins with canvas 1, when (and why) she moves on to the next and how you can keep the marks coordinating but not repeating on each unique piece.

Starting with dark colors and gradually moving to lighter hues, Skye shows you when to add medium and when it’s time to let the paint be its thick, oily self! 

Learn to mix your own black and gather key tips for creating colors that pull your palette together throughout the three paintings 🎨.

Skye keeps you moving through the canvases working with flow to create loose, spontaneous marks - lines - dots and scratches - on each. 
Here, you’ll play with adding rich oil layers on top of your early acrylic marks. Starting with dark colors and gradually moving to lighter hues, Skye shows you when to add medium and when it’s time to let the paint be its thick, oily self!
